Twice a year, experts in the furniture industry gather for the world s largest furnishing industry trade show: High Point Market in North Carolina. With over 11.5 million square feet of showspace, High Point Market has the most extensive display of new furniture and d cor trends. As High Point Market s website says, If you can t find it in High Point it probably doesn t exist.
In the spring and fall, our Oskar Huber merchandisers and designers pack up and head down to the 5 day event. This year, they shared some of their favorite trends so we could share them with you! Here is what loved:
1. Rustic and Reclaimed Wood
Similar to last year, a continuing driver in the industry is rustic reclaimed woods. But this year, companies also brought new groups of luxurious finishes to Market. Fantastic natural beauties of different wood grains showcased high style and high fashion, making them one of our favorite finds at High Point.
2. Fun and Funky Patterns
Who doesn t love a fun, bold pattern? Market was filled with gorgeous, geometric patterns. Designers combined many interesting patterns in one space, giving a lively but livable feel. Upholstered pieces popped with unexpected color combinations, like the fuchsia, lime, and blue floral chair below.

3. Extravagant Lighting
The lighting selection was one of our favorites this trip! It was amazing to see simple and abstract lighting fixtures work to pull a space together. Others worked as statement pieces, using light to accent their unique forms.
4. Bold Color
You couldn t ignore the bright and bold use of color at Market. Saturated shades of orange, green, and pink. Above all, blue stood out as the industry favorite. From turquoise to cobalt, blue hues were the belle of the ball.

5. Metallic Accents
Shiny metallic accents made their way in to many of the displays at Market this spring. Brass, silver, copper, and gold were found in room accessories, wall art, side tables, lamps, and so much more. Take away: These pieces are like the sparkling jewelry of your room s d cor!
With so many exciting new trends at High Point Market, it was hard to narrow down to just a few! Our designers tell us they are very excited to incorporate these trends in the showrooms and, of course, to see what High Point Market has to offer in the fall!
