As we fast approach Labor Day we thought it would be fun to take a look back on some of the more popular blog posts from this summer. Although we love bringing you content every week, a few blogs have really stood out with our readers. It's Friday and the weekend is almost here. Sit back, relax and take a look back with us :)

The first one is not from the summer per se however we thought it was pretty good...

2018 Bucks County Designer House

The Bucks County Designer House & Gardens is a charity fundraiser for Doylestown Hospital that is run by the Village Improvement Association of Doylestown. Each year a different home from the area is chosen to redecorate both inside and out. The VIA asks for help from local designers, craftsmen, landscapers and artists to make the finished product an inspiring example of the latest fashion and design trends This has taken place every spring for 40 years and Oskar Huber Furniture & Design has been a part of this exciting event for the past 5 years.

Since it draws over 7,000 people each year, it s a great way for artisans to show the public what they can do. Oskar Huber Furniture & Design is proud to be a part of this amazing event and this year we completely redesigned the dining room from scratch. We also assist other designers by making their visions come to life. This year s designer house showcased our furniture and accessories in 6 of the rooms! The dining room was completely designed and outfitted by our Southampton store designs Claire, Eileen, Heather, Joanne & Angela along with our accessory buyer, Melanie, and Visual Coordinator Heidi.

Coffee Tables

A coffee table is a style of long, low table which is designed to be placed in front of (or next to) a sofa or upholstered chairs to support beverages (hence the name), magazines, books (especially large, illustrated coffee table books), and decorative objects. In some situations, such as during a party, plates of food may be placed on the table.

Next in our Ship Bottom store, check out this distressed oval cocktail table. Made from reclaimed wood this coastal style table is simple, functional, and will compliment any coastal living space.

Design Portfolio: Haven Beach LBI

One of our talented designers, Russell Heckman, recently worked with clients Steve and Abby Sakwa to complete their coastal home in Haven Beach NJ. Situated just yards from the beach, this brand-new coastal property was beautiful, and empty. After just a few short weeks of working with Russ and others at Oskar Huber, the Sakwa s now have a fully furnished and decorated home worthy of hosting their friends and family. Complete with a great room, several bedrooms, two large living spaces, a patio, and featuring a rooftop deck, this Oskar Huber designed and furnished house will be providing comfort and entertainment for years to come!

And to finish things off, it is Labor Day weekend after all, a toast to the summer. Here is one of our favorite drink recipes. Have a great weekend everyone.

Watermelon-Tequila Cocktails

Ingredients

1/4 cup water

1/4 cup granulated sugar

8 cups diced seedless watermelon (1 pound)

1/4 cup fresh lime juice

1 3/4 cups blueberries

3/4 cup lightly packed fresh mint leaves, plus 8 sprigs for garnish

1 1/4 cups silver tequila

Ice

How to Make It

Step 1

In a small saucepan, bring the water to a simmer with the sugar and stir over moderate heat until the sugar is dissolved, about 1 minute; let the sugar syrup cool.

Step 2

In a blender, puree the watermelon until smooth. Set a fine-mesh strainer over a bowl and strain the watermelon juice, pressing gently on the solids to extract as much juice as possible. Discard the pulp.

Step 3

In a large pitcher, combine the sugar syrup with the lime juice, blueberries and mint leaves. Using a wooden spoon, lightly muddle the blueberries and mint. Add the watermelon juice and tequila. Refrigerate until chilled, about 2 hours.

Step 4

Pour the cocktail into tall ice-filled glasses. Garnish with the mint sprigs and serve.
