Fashion Trends for the Upcoming Season
We have recently returned from the Furniture Market which is held twice a year in High Point, North Carolina. There is over twelve million square feet of showroom space where each manufacturer showcases what they think you, the consumer is looking for today. Read below to get our take on what’s happening and how our showrooms will be evolving in the months ahead. French Laundry - Eclectic, vintage-inspired elements seen in upholstery, bed linens and accent pillows. The French Laundry aesthetic features linen and functional fabrics inspired by century-old feed sacks. This trend has carried over prominently into the accessory category as seen in burlap lampshades and artwork framed with antique linen mat treatments; accents feature timeworn rub-through finishes.
Farmhouse Chic - Elegant yet rustic elements create a comforting and relaxed environment. This style embraces reclaimed materials, natural wood finishes and fabrics including linen, cotton, wool and jute. Farm scenes and charmingly simple accessories in a calming palette complete this time-gone-by look. A natural fit for Bucks County!
Vintage Modern - Classic silhouettes updated in modern fresh applications. Vintage, romantic, nostalgic and sometimes industrial components recall a sense of the past. Gray is the new favorite neutral which pairs especially well with accents of aqua, yellow and lavender. Botanical-themed and nature inspired accessories bring it all home.
The New Classics - Balancing elements of the past with just the right touch of modernity creates a truly timeless sensibility. Tufting is common; streamlined forms provide an elegant feeling of fluidity, subtly adorned by sophisticated organic and geometric motifs. Look for these motifs to be repeated in artwork, rugs and decorative pillows. Rich, warm hues of persimmon and golden tones are prevalent.
Coastal - This style is more widespread than ever, especially in the accessory category. The updated beach palette includes white-washed finishes, driftwood grays and watery aqua tones with hints of turquoise. With substantial offerings in lamps, chandeliers, art, mirrors, tabletop, and rugs, Ship Bottom customers will be impressed with our high end looks yet affordable selections which make this uncomplicated lifestyle effortless to achieve.
